Dr. Tahat is a part
time instructor and a member of a research team in the Computer
Science Department at
IIT. Dr. Tahat currently teaches
CSP 545: Wireless Networking Technologies and
Applications. This course
presents the foundation of wireless technologies and examine
state-of-the-art wireless systems and services.
Dr. Tahat is
a lead
end–to-end solution architect
with more than 13 years of professional experience in
mobile/fixed network solutions in Alcatel-Lucent and IBM
corporation.
He is a lead architect for a dual mode service
solution for a wireless operator based on Internet Multimedia
Subsystem (IMS). He has a master’s degree in computer science
from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and a Ph.D. in
computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology
(IIT), also in Chicago. In his time at Alcatel-Lucent, Dr. Tahat
has held several positions in software development, system
engineering, and system architecture and has contributed to
several areas in the fields of software engineering in the
wireless industry. His research interests include software
testing, software maintenance, and wireless network solutions.
The results of his research were published in several conference
and Journals papers.
