The textbook is used for recommended reading and support of the concepts covered in the course as related to the Java language. Any of the textbooks listed are acceptable..
PREREQUISITE - No programming background necessary. Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and applications such as Explorer, Word, Excel. .
Computing Resources: All labs will be submitted via email or hardcopy to student’s TA by the end of lab section each week. You should install Java SE Development Kit (JDK 8) and work in any development environment. Notepad++ will be shown in class and Eclipse is available in the OTS Labs in classroom buildings. Instructions for downloading and installing Java, Notepad++, and Eclipse.
