1 | Dr. Mo Zou was a visiting student at the SCS laboratory. She is a student member of China Computer Federation (CCF). Her research is in Graph Applications, Computer Architecture, and Memory Hierarchy. |
2 | Bo Feng was a pre-doctoral research associate at the SCS laboratory. He received his bachelor degree in engineering from China Agricultural University and his Master degree from IIT. His research is in parallel I/O, parallel file systems and storage. |
3 | Dr. Yuhang Liu was a postdoctoral researcher at the SCS laboratory. He received his Ph.D. degrees in computer architecture from Beihang University in 2013. He is a member of China Computer Federation (CCF) and IEEE. His research interests include scalable parallel and distributed processing, memory system, performance evaluation and optimization. |
4 | Dr. Shuibing He was a postdoctoral researcher at the SCS laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in Dec. 2009 from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research areas include Parallel Computer Architecture, distributed storage and file systems, embedded system. |

7 | Carlos Sanchez Gomez was a Research Associate at the SCS laboratory. He received his Master in Computer Science in 2011. His research focused on improving L2 cache memory performance. |
8 | Dr. Huaiming Song was a postdoctoral research associate at the SCS laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2009 from Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests were Large Scale Data Intensive systems, including data organization, query processing and optimization. He was working on I/O performance optimizing of data intensive systems. |
9 | Huaiyu Zhu was a Research Associate at the SCS laboratory. He received his Master Degree in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2009. His research was focusing on hardware-based data prefetching mechanisms on cache level. |
10 | Dr. Yong Chen served as a senior research associate at the SCS laboratory for a period of nine months. He received his Ph.D. from IIT in Summer 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Xian-He Sun. His research interests are in the areas of memory systems, parallel I/O, and performance evaluations. He has received several awards for his dissertation research, including the prestigious IEEE/ACM HPC fellowship. |
11 | Dr. Surendra Byna moved to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) in Berkeley, CA. He was a researcher at NEC Laboratories America in Princeton, NJ. At LBNL, he is a member of the Scientific Data Management group in the Computational Research Division. He was a student member and later a faculty member at our SCS Lab between 2000 and 2009. More information about his new coordinates and his research at LBNL. |
12 | Dr. Zhibin Fang was a postdoctoral researcher at the SCS laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in Fall 2007 from the Institute of Computing Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research areas include Parallel Computer Architecture, and Performance Analysis and Optimization of Memory System and Interconnection of Networking. He was working on server push architecture to improve data access performance for High End Computing. |
13 | Dr. Ming Wu was a Ph.D. student at the SCS laboratory before he received his Ph.D. in Dec. 2006. From January 2007 to May 2007, he was a research assistant professor at the SCS laboratory. He initiated the study of realibility of high-end computing at SCS, which helped to land a Information Technology Research (ITR) grant from NSF in 2007 in research of fault tolerance of HEC. |
14 | Dr. Kasidit Chanchio received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University in Dec. 2000. He was a post doctoral researcher at the SCS laboratory from Oct. 2000 to August 2001. He leaded the SNOW project, which was later funded by NSF as one of the first nine projects supported by NSF Middleware initiative (NMI) in 2001. |
15 | Dr. Yu Zhuang received his Ph.D. in mathematics and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University in June and Dec., 2000, respectively. He was a visiting assistant professor at the SCS Lab. from April 2001 to August 2001. He joined the Computer Science Department at the Texas Technology University as an assistant professor in August, 2001. He worked on the HAPANS project which was supported in part by Offic of Naval Research. |
16 | Dr. Wu Zhang worked as a senior research associate at the SCS Laboratory from July 2000 to Oct. 2001. He worked on the HAPANS project and was supported in part by ONR and NSF. He come from Xian Jiaotong University, P.R.China, where he was a professor and the director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics. His research interest mainly involves numerical algorithms and CFD. |
17 | Dr. Xingfu Wu was a post-doctoral researcher at the SCS Lab. from Nov. 1998 to Nov. 1999. Dr. Wu received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree from Beijing Normal University in 1988 and 1993, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in computer science form Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in March, 1997. Currently, he generated several publications during his stay. He is currenly a research faculty member in Department of Computer Science at the Texas A&M University. His research interests include performance evaluation, prediction and visualization of parallel systems, parallel programming environments and tools, algorithmical logic, mathematical logic, and parallel genetic algorithms. |
