Lauren realized she loved computers when she was just a small child. She always enjoyed playing games on her family computer and surfing the internet. Over the past summer, she worked at the Illinois Institute of Technology, or IIT, and learned the basics of Java. She constructed a word count program and performed latency and bandwidth tests. She presented the statistical data of her tests at DePaul University. While at IIT, she realized her interest in human computer interaction (HCI), finding that it combined her creativity and her love of computers. She would love to find a job working with the development and design of operating systems and user interfaces in the future.
