Both Software Development and Maintenance activities
start with the preparation of Estimation of the Project. Subsequently,
once when the Software Product is developed completely,there are number of
different types of Maintenance activities that can performed. For any type
of Maintanence activity, there are set of processes that has to be
followed. The most important activites being: 1. Configuration
Management
2. Risk
Management
and
3.
Causal Analysis. The diagram below represents all the
major activities in the Maintenance process. We see that most of the
Activities in the Bug Fixing Process is same as that of the Migration
Process. Except the fact that the Requirement Definition activity is
involved along with the set of activities to be performed when the Product
developed had COTS (Customer Off The Shelf) Software integrated with
it.
