Software Engineering Research in ATL, Dr. Chen Fu
Abstract: Accenture Technology Labs is the research arm of Accenture, where technology consulting is its core business. As the Software Engineering research group, our research focus on improving the efficiency of activities in different stages of software development, in order to increase software quality and cut cost. This talk tries to scratch the surface of how program analysis and other techniques can be used to increase automation in software testing.
Bio: Dr. Chen Fu is a Researcher at Accenture Technology Labs. His research interests is in Program Analysis and Software Engineering. His recent research focuses on using program analysis techniques to improve software development and testing. The goal is to reduce manual efforts and also human error by increasing automation in these activates. He received Ph.D in Computer Science in 2008 at Rutgers University, under the guidance of Prof. Barbara G. Ryder. His dissertation focused on Exception Analysis and Robustness Testing of OO Programs. His publications have appeared in ICSE, TSE and many other noted venues.
IT Architectural Governance, Dr. Richard C. Powell Jr.
Bio: Dr. Richard C. Powell is the Chief Information Officer at Cook County Treasurer Office. He is a financial and technology consultant with a proven track record in financial management, project management, client service, and aligning technology with business needs. He has over 25 years of experience directing the planning, design and implementation of projects involving information and systems management, activity based costing, health care information management, the use of applied software engineering research to improve application services, and development of innovative data architectures. Mr. Powell earned a Doctorate in Management Information Systems from Case Western Reserve University, a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois. He holds the professional designations of Certified Management Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Project Management Professional and Certified Management Consultant. Richard is a member of the adjunct faculty at DePaul University and has conducted classes in Systems Analysis and Design, Internet Technologies, and Management Accounting.

Bio: Jeff Yakey is a senior software engineer at Motorola Solutions and has a great depth of experience in the telecommunications and public safety industries during his 11 year career at Motorola. Jeff received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University, specializing in algorithmic robotics, and his B.A. degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Wartburg College (Waverly, IA).
