Vac: AI models for sentiment analysis

This project investigates whether AI models can accurately predict sentiment from the human voice through features extracted purely from the spectral decomposition of the human voice. In this work we do not analyze words or utterances, instead our features are extracted purely from the spectral decomposition of the voice.

(Vac is the Hindu goddess of written words and wisdom. Vac is also the Sanskrit word for "speech", "voice", "talk", or "language".)

This project is a work in progress and is being investigated by Shivam Kulkarni (MS CS), Luis Barbado (MS CS), Vijay K. Gurbani, and additional collaborators from Vail Systems, Inc. Academic publications disseminating the results are under preparation.
