CS 529: Advanced Information Retrieval

Objectives

• The course will introduce students to core research topics in Information Retrieval.
• It is assumed students know the key algorithms relevant to search and retrieval and they are now ready to focus on recent advances in the field.

Prerequisites

• CS 429.

Syllabus

• Recent research papers will be assigned to students from major Information Retrieval conferences and journals and students will present those papers.
• A detailed research project will also be assigned.
